Description
“A hop with many talents”
Hops with a double use, giving the beer a subtle bitterness, bringing the aromas of lemon peel with notes of pine in the background.
Due to its great profile of essential oils, low cohumulone and high alpha acid content, Southern Cross is a variety worth recommending for bitterness and aroma. Brewers describe the aroma as a combination of orange peel and pine needles with a pinch of spice in the background. This hops is perfect as a late addition to the boiler as well as in cold hopping. Southern Cross works well in lagers and ALEs delivering fruity aromas in the foreground.
